We left North Salt Lake on Wednesday, May 22, 2013 and headed to West Yellowstone. We found our RV park on the shore of Hebgon Lake. We loved it there and wished we had arranged to stay longer. Lots of birds, various waterfowl, Canadian Geese and lots and lots of flying insects but no mosquitos. The trees were just beginning to leave out and it was cold. Here are some pictures of the lake.
Waterfowl along the shore.
Canadian Geese over on the lawn milling about.
Oh, give me a home where the buffalo roam….
Hey, who went roaming across our wet cement??
WEST YELLOWSTONE
In West Yellowstone we saw grizzlies and wolves and eagles, oh, my!

The real wolves were not cooperating. They were asleep in the sun so we could hardly see them but they’re in the middle of the picture all huddled together.
The grizzlies, on the other hand, were out and about. Just as we got there, they had what they call the “Jr. Keeper Club”. They put the bears in the cages then all the kids who wanted to, could go into the habitat and hide food here and there. Then, when the bears were let out, the kids could see how long it took the bears to smell out and find the food they had hidden. The bears were very active while we were there, which made for some really good bear sightings. None in Yellowstone anymore.
This eagle looked like it wanted to be anywhere but in this enclosure.
I took a fancy to this cute carving.
Papa needed a rest.
There were lots of painted buffalo all over West Yellowstone.
I remember going to that place with Carolyn and Bob! I seem to remember it made me want to shot a bear....
