SPEARFISH CANYON

Just down the road a short way from our RV park is the highway the leads through Spearfish Canyon.  We first drove it going to Deadwood and Lead.  Then we drove it going to Mt. Rushmore.  Than drove it again going to Custer State Park/Needles Highway/Iron Mountain Road.  It just happens to be the shortest route to all of these places.  We also went there for a picnic one evening.  It is the most beautiful canyon I know of.  It’s probably absolutely spectacular when the leaves change in the fall.  Here are a few pictures we took.

Highway winding through the canyon.  They advertise this canyon as the Bikers’ Paradise.  Sure were a lot of them.

You might wonder why I put so many pictures in right here.  Well, it’s so I can see them when I want to.  We could have gone to all the places I mentioned above by freeway.  But we chose to go the slower route and enjoy this beautiful canyon several times during our stay in Spearfish, SD.
